Aftercare

Aftercare is not a fixed outline of perfect healing because the skin is a living organ that can react differently based on various factors. While specific aftercare instructions are provided to promote optimal healing, it's important to understand that individual healing processes can vary.

Factors such as the client's skin type, overall health, lifestyle, and adherence to aftercare instructions can influence the outcome of your treatment. Some clients may experience faster healing and better retention of pigment, while others may take longer or have different results.

The skin's natural regenerative processes, including cell turnover and pigment retention, can be affected by factors such as sun exposure, skincare products, genetics, and individual body chemistry. These variables can impact how the pigment settles and how long the results last.

Aftercare is essential for successful healing, the outcome can still vary due to the uniqueness of each individual's skin and their specific circumstances. It's important for clients to manage their expectations and understand that perfect healing cannot be guaranteed due to these inherent variables.

Step 1:

1-3 days: Don´t touch your treated area! I will apply a special sealant on your treated area for protection and keep them hydrated.

If needed- gently pat the treated area dry with a clean tissue to absorb excess lymphatic fluid. -That's it.

Step 2:

Days 3-14 : Clean with saline, sterile water or antibacterial soap that we will provide. Use dabbing motions with cotton or gauze, once a day or as needed. Do this daily.

(If antibacterial soap is used, please clean the area well making sure that there are no soap residue by dabbing with a damp cotton or gauze using sterile water)

Next apply a small dose of any ointment we provide or of ointment of your choice, (Vitamin A & D, Coconut oil , Aquaphor, etc) spread it over the treated area.

******** Only use ointment when you feel your skin is getting tight, if skin feels good, DO NOT USE ointment ********

Use very little ointment, to allow your skin to breathe. Over saturating the area will delay the healing process. The exact amount would be that which is barely noticeable on the skin. Never apply the ointment to a wet tattoo!!

Note: If you have oily skin. SKIP the ointment!!!

Here are some extra tips for good healing:

  • Water, Swimming (beach, pool, lake ...) and jacuzzis.14 days

  • During this process do not use any facial cleansing product that contains acids (glycolic, lactic or AHA) and no facial scrub.

  • Use clean towels on your pillow cases (as you can stain your pillows)

  • Don't touch the scabs on your skin, let them fall off on their own. Scratching or rubbing the treated area can cause scarring or pigment loss.

  • Avoid facials, Botox, chemical or microdermabrasion treatments during the first month.

  • Avoid exercise that causes excessive sweating - 7 days.

  • Showers with a lot of steam and very hot water. 7 days

  • Sleeping on your stomach. 7 days

  • Non-specific cosmetics, including sunscreen. 14 days

  • Avoid Direct sun or tanning booths - 14 days

  • But above all: don't rub the treated area!

Important information about the shower:

Limit your daily shower to 5 minutes and try not to create too much steam. While you lather your body, try not to get your face wet. I recommend washing your hair at the end of the shower and, when you rinse it, avoid wetting the treated area as much as possible.

The healing process of any semi permanent treatment can be unpredictable and varies from person to person. It is important to understand the stages of healing to know what to expect and what is considered normal. Here's a general outline of the healing process:

Day 1: Your freshly done brows will look perfect and you'll love them!

Day 2-4: Your eyebrows will appear darker and thicker as the body starts to expel excess pigment. Don't worry, they will lighten up.

Day 5-8: Some scabbing and light flakes may appear. Avoid picking or touching them to prevent pigment loss.

Day 9-10: This is when your brows may seem to disappear, but it's just temporary. The pigment is being absorbed by the body and will reappear later.

Days 11-28: Your brows will gradually reappear, but they may appear light or have patchy spots. These areas can be addressed in a touch-up session to achieve desired results.

Day 42 (after touch-up): Your brows will be back and even better than the initial session.

Day 72: During this phase, some clients may experience additional pigment loss.

Please note that individual results may vary due to different skin types and healing processes. In about 15% of cases, more than one touch-up may be necessary, especially for those with oily skin, smokers, athletes, lifestyle or hormonal issues. It's important to assess the need for a touch-up and additional cost may apply.

Remember, the healing process is unique for each person, so stay patient and trust the process. Following the post-treatment care instructions is crucial for optimal healing and long-lasting results.
